2 odd things about cron tasks
Thursday, 16 Nov 2017
1) A cron task won't trigger unless you add a new, empty line in the end of the cron task list file.
2) Cron might not always be able to find an application by its short name, without its full path that is. Say, "ping". Namely, in a cron task you better use "/usr/bin/ping -c 3 something.com", not "ping -c 3 something.com" Even if you can call "ping" in the terminal with no failure by its short name.
